NUTRITION COACHING AND FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

How I Help You Recover Health, Lose Weight, and Increase Energy So you Can Thrive

The people I work with constantly juggle priorities and frequently feel they don’t have time to care for their health, especially regarding diet and exercise habits.

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • MOMS — You have to shuttle kids to school, sports, and activities in addition to trying to work a job to support your family and meet commitments to your church/charity group and end up just finding something “quick and convenient” for dinners like pizza or some other takeout/drive-through.
  • OVERWEIGHT — You know you should exercise more but don’t know what to do or how to start. Should I do cardio? Or am I supposed to be doing other things?
  • OLDER FOLKS — You haven’t seen the results from what you’ve tried in the past due to a lack of intensity, inconsistency, or insufficient knowledge of what to do physically or with your nutrition.

Many feel it’s too late to make a change and have resigned to a life of sickness and physical unwellness.

Read more below, and when you’re ready, let’s talk and I’ll help you along.

helping you be the best version of yourself

When working with me, you will:

  • Understand what you are spending your time on throughout the day so that you can prioritize taking care of your health through proper nutrition and functional fitness.
  • Identify non-scale victories and understand that numbers on a scale alone don’t define health and wellness.
  • Understand how your body reacts to what you consume to determine what works and is sustainable.
  • Reinforce that you are fearfully and wonderfully made and that all things are possible through God.

As we progress regularly, you’ll feel more vibrant, with stable energy, and it’ll get better over time.
As a natural byproduct of being healthier, unwanted pounds come off.

true, lasting change comes from higher powers

Many of my clients are Christians.

When aligned with Him, you can set out to fulfill God’s purpose specifically for you with conviction and confidence, knowing that He gives you strength. When you take the time to pray to ensure your goals are God-centered, then you can make sustainable, lasting changes in your life because God gives you the strength to get through the tough times that would otherwise set you back.

For non-Christians, we tap into a higher power.

I speak to my clients about finding their big why for their journey ahead. Having a motivating reason, a powerful purpose you can embrace, gives them the energy to progress and see results.

In our work together, I will:

  • keep you focused on the things you can control so that change is possible
  • provide honest feedback on your plan to make it better and work for you
  • help you identify and celebrate many small victories along the way to energize you
  • keep you accountable to your goals so that you see regular progress each week

Like climbing up a mountain, we’ll feel good about how far we’ve gone instead of worrying about how much is left. This keeps you focused, fully motivated, and feeling good about your efforts.

How we work together

Online or in-person sessions. If you’re in the Knoxville, Tennessee, area, we can consider in-person sessions for both fitness training and nutrition coaching. Outside of this area, I support clients via phone/Zoom calls.

Group Programs Online. I run 8-week online classes for both nutrition and exercise. They are great for improving your eating habits and physical activity simultaneously. It’s best to jump on my email list for updates.

Client Success

Overweight at 64, Low Hope, No Time.

I was overweight, my knees and hip joints ached, and I felt my muscles becoming weaker as each year went by. I turned 64 last May. I wondered if I could reverse the toll that my lack of physical activity had taken on my body. Even if I could, How would I find the time?

I was not used to taking care of “me” first. Lisa gave me the flight attendants story, “Should the cabin lose pressure, oxygen masks will drop from the overhead area. Please place the mask over your own mouth and nose before assisting others.” Wow! I finally got it!

She encouraged me to start a workout routine, and I started in June, three days a week. It was difficult, especially at first! But Lisa’s confidence in me convinced me that I could do it. I was lifting weights, I was getting stronger, and I was doing planks! Planks! I can’t thank Lisa enough!

“Working with LISA was a great way to grow some discipline …”

I really enjoyed working with Lisa over four months.  She customized a program that worked based on the goals I wanted to achieve, and incorporated modifications as needed along the way.

The app we used showed demo videos, gave instructions, and captured my responses after the exercise. This was a great way for us to communicate about what worked well and the challenges I faced so she could make adjustments for the next workout.

Lisa’s story is very inspiring, and I found her extremely professional to work with – working with her was a great way to grow some discipline in this area, learn a lot, and feel more equipped to take this to the next level on my own.

“I feel confident that our family will become Healthier …”

Lisa has helped my family develop a healthier lifestyle by educating me on nutrition and its impact on wellness now and in the future. She provided numerous recipes and a planning guide that added variety and flavor to my cooking.

She also shared many resources with me to assist in making the best choices when eating out, purchasing snacks, pantry items, household cleaners, and personal care products. I feel confident that our family will move forward with what we have learned from Lisa and become stronger and healthier as a result!

“I feel stronger and have more energy … “

I have been working with Lisa Strobridge for over two months now. I feel stronger and have more energy due to the workouts and nutrition advice given by Lisa. She has an excellent understanding of how to assist with motivation and provide support. Lisa understands the struggles of changing eating habits and works with me to get through any obstacles.

“I was able to increase core and upper body strength, and continue to get stronger long after working with Lisa”

I wanted to work with Lisa predominantly to increase my core and upper body strength. Before I started working with Lisa, I could not do more than 1 or 2 push-ups and had very little upper body strength.

Each week, we would meet to go thru new movements and techniques and she would tailor an increasingly challenging workout to focus on these areas.  She would check in regarding my progress and encourage/make changes where necessary.

At the end of 2 months of training, I held a plank position for over a minute and do three sets of 10 push-ups.  It was a great program to kick-start my goals of increased core and upper body strength and helped alleviate my lower back pain as well!

I have the greatest success with people who:

  • Are convicted by God to change. You realize what you are doing now isn’t working and are now in a place spiritually and mentally to make changes for the better.
  • Are willing to take ownership of your actions. Change is possible, but not without taking ownership of the thoughts and actions needed to make those changes.
  • Are humble, willing, and open to receiving feedback. Change is hard, and you need to be willing to hear hard messages to take the actions you need to change.
  • Are open to teamwork. Be open to understanding that you can’t do things alone and that, as a coach, I’m invested in your success and will be a partner in reaching your goals.
