A book to stop wrecking your metabolism, “Estrogeneration”
I read Estrogeneration back in 2022 and I immediately recommended it to Ben, my sister, and my mother-in-law.
Dr. Jay writes like he’s talking to you over coffee – clear, straight-up, and not afraid to challenge the mainstream.
I spent years feeling broken. Not just tired – wrecked. Foggy, inflamed, gaining weight for no good reason.

At 5’5” and 240 pounds, I did everything they told me. Eat less. Move more. Count calories.
All it did was leave me starving, moody, and spinning my wheels.
Back then, I didn’t know my environment was messing with me. No one talked about that.
I wish I had Estrogeneration in my hands years ago.
This book lays out how estrogen-mimicking chemicals (estrogenics) are hiding in everyday stuff: lotion, plastic, food, water.
And how they quietly jack up your hormones, screw with your metabolism, and wear you down over time.
Reading it felt like connecting the dots on what my body had been trying to tell me for years.
I wasn’t crazy. I wasn’t lazy. I was overloaded with fake hormones I didn’t even know I was consuming.
3 hidden hormone traps that drained my energy
It’s not just junk food — it’s shampoo, receipts, Tupperware, even your morning smoothie bottle.
– Swap plastic containers for glass or stainless steel.
– Use fragrance-free, paraben-free personal care products.
How invisible toxins trained my body to hold fat
Estrogenics can train your body to hold on to fat, especially in the midsection.
- – Prioritize animal protein and ditch plant-based proteins, ultra-processed garbage, and seed oils.
- Get strong — lift weights instead of grinding out endless cardio.
You can’t willpower your way through hijacked hormones
If your hormones are hijacked, no amount of kale or cardio will fix it.
- Ditch the calorie obsession and focus on nutrient-dense animal foods.
- Get serious about sleep — your hormones reset overnight.
Two Things I Did Immediately After Reading Estrogeneration:
1. Switched everyone off personal care and cleaning products containing estrogenics, including lavender or tea tree essential oils.
2. Moved away from plastic cups, storage containers, and straws — switched to silicone, glass, ceramics, or metal.
I would say that I’m doing great hormonally, especially at 46, while I know many folks going through peri-menopause are struggling.
If I’d read this back when I was stuck and exhausted, I would’ve made changes way sooner.
This isn’t a miracle fix. But it’s information that matters. And once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
It explains a lot — why “just eat less” doesn’t cut it. Why your body’s holding on to fat. Why you feel off.
It’s the kind of book I recommend now, especially to women who feel like something’s wrong — but can’t quite name it.
Because something is wrong. And it’s not you.
If you’re ready to start turning that corner — start by understanding what you’re up against.
Estrogeneration won’t fix everything. But it sure shines a light. And that’s a darn good place to start.
